Taleng Phai: A Chakrabhand Puppet Play: Characteristics of Performance Literature

Abstract This research examines literary techniques used in the adaptation of Lilit Taleng Phai to a Chakrabhand puppet play and analyzes characteristics Phai: A Puppet Play as performance literature. The study reveals that four were make this adaptation: 1) content; 2) characters; 3) pattern; 4) presentation. These adaptations contribute literature through five conventions: use an invocation for performance; inclusion songs; insertion jokes; method delivery puppets stage; 5) not ending with death character. Importantly, includes three innovations performance: creation from historical literature; atmosphere songs singing format.
